"Very much displeased how this branch of state farm records / intereprets / processess the information communicated during policy sign up and establishes their underwriting policies. As a customer i had my 2 cars and my spouse with an out of state driver license listed on the policy made in march and clearly communicated both of us will be driving both cars. After roughly 3 months of pating preniums with no hassle, i had reps from this branch (dont want to call names) call me to do a premium rise with the reason that my spouse who is already listed as a driver on the policy was NOT a primary driver and DOESNOT have a car assigned between the two cars we owned and said “NO underwriting change” is needed for this. They just had to assign one of my cars to my wife as primary in texas which i was okay doing. However when i started asking for why the premium hike, they claimed Someone who has a spouse although NOT willing to drive but living in the same household MUST also be REGISTERED and BE ASSIGNED A CAR (listing on policy is NOT sufficient) on the policy as a driver due to their likelihood of risk for driving the car and the underwriting was “still under review” (after 3 months) of policy start date. They also noted/logged my previous comms for my wife license to be “out of state license” as “elswhere” on their end and now interpreted to me as if they assumed it with “some other provider within state of texas”. Twisting words and misinterpreting the information disclosed during signing up of policy is NOT customers fault and customer should NOT be charged / have surprises to pay for hiked premium changes on a auto policy. I wish i was able to resolve this differently without the premium hike and better customer service without having to NOT be their customer."
